Hello again guys.
In case you haven’t already seen it, our Editor-In-Chief Eoin McAuley wrote a seasonal ‘Letter from the Editor‘ post for the site which you can check out here. So from everyone at Lightning Strike Comics, we’d just like to say Thank You for supporting us these past few months and we look forward to producing an amazing comic for you all to enjoy next year. To all our readers and supporters, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
As promised here’s some preview pages of Ger Hankey’s ‘Hybrid’, coming to you as part of ‘Lightning Strike Presents…’ in the new year. Ger’s working on one other story for us as part of the anothology called ‘Queller’, which we’ll posting some previews of later in the week. If you wanna check out some more of Ger’s work be sure to head on over to ‘Sketch Paddys‘, where you can also see work from some of our other artists including Cormac Hughes and Robert Carey. Rob and Ger were also nominated in The Arcade’s 2011 Reader’s Choice awards.

Just a little update to let you all know that Lightning Strike Comics will be making an appearance at 2 conventions next year in the UK. On May 19th-20th we’ll be at Kapow! in London alongside the like of Mark Millar and Jonathan Ross. We’ll also be attending Hi-Ex, partially organized by our very own Richmond Clements and Vicky Stonebridge. So if you fancy coming along, or have any friends living in the UK attending, be sure to tell ’em to come by and have a look at ‘Lightning Strike Presents’ and Dublin City Comics table.
With that all out of the way, here’s another little taster for you. Here’s the first page (uncoloured) of Canon Law by James Looney and Robert Carey.
As promised, here’s a preview of the first page of ‘Brian Boru’, a comic written by the phenomenally talented Richmond Clements with art by the wonderful Cormac Hughes. Just to keep you guys keen to see the finished product, this is a simple draft without colour, so be sure to pick up a copy of Lightning Strike Presents’ in the new year to see the finished product.
If you want to see more work from our fantastic artists just head on over to the SketchPaddy’s blog. More previews are on the way this week so keep coming back guys!
Sorry if we’ve been a bit quiet these past few weeks. All our writers and artists have been buckling down and working day and night to make sure ‘Lighting Strike Presents…’ is ready for print within the New Year. But naturally, we didn’t wanna leave you guys in the dark for too long, so be sure to come back here this week for exclusive previews of the line art from some our projects, like Canon Law, Brian Boru and A Clockwork Universe.
We’re also working on bringing the comic to a number of conventions next year so we’ll be releasing details of those soon too.
Hope everyone is enjoying the start of the festive season and we’ll be back in a few days with some exclusive line-art.
